Pattern Making and Grading

This is where the magic happens! Think of the pattern as the blueprint for your garment. Once a technical sketch and tech pack have been put together our master pattern-makers begin shaping the garment. The skill of the pattern maker establishes the garment's balance, structure, and most importantly fit. Any item from a tank top to a wedding gown starts with a pattern. Our 9+ years of experience creating tens of thousands of patterns is at work when we develop yours.

About us

KERIE B AMELIA, OWNER & DESIGNER.

Kerlie Amelia Blair, a skilled pattern maker from a family of fashion manufacturers, started her career in London and later moved to New York to start her own evening wear collection. She managed every aspect of her business, from development to sourcing, pattern-making, and production. Her attention to detail and expertise in garment construction led her to help other designers. She then moved to Buffalo, NY, to start Kerlie Apparel, working with designers like Bill Blass and Oscar de la Renta. Kerlie continues to be involved in the success of Kerlie Apparel, managing the team of skilled pattern-makers, providing guidance on fit, balance, and design aesthetics. She also manages the production team to ensure quality work flow and construction. Her passion for creating her own collection is now extended to other notable and emerging designers.

JENNIFER, Personal Stylist & Image Consultant

Hi, I’m Jennifer. Growing up near NYC with a hairstylist mother and a makeup artist cousin, I inherited a deep love for the transformative power of fashion. For over a decade, I’ve honed my skills in the fashion industry. It was in Miami, eight years ago, that I found my true calling – styling clients. There is a profound joy that wells up within me when I witness the way someone’s eyes light up and their inner radiance shines through when they find that perfect outfit. It’s a breathtaking sight that fuels my passion every day.

MAGDA AMELIA AYO, Product Development & Bulk Production Manager.

Pauline Lock has been the "gatekeeper” to kerlie since the inception of In kerlieapparel. She manages product development and bulk production for all clients. Pauline works with designers to develop their products, using the best and most appropriate techniques and methods for their target markets. She takes an in-depth look at each brand and aligns In Style USA resources with the designers' needs. She reviews design tech packs with her team of patternmakers and sewers to execute the designers' visions. Pauline also manages the seamless transition from sketch to retail. She follows the progress of each item with her team in the bulk production process, overseeing every detail to ensure fabric, trims, and all components are ready for production.
